How to get the most from it
- Best-value use. Classic Rewards start from 5,000 Miles. Cash+Miles uses any mix of cash and Miles. Upgrades start from 7,020 Miles. Classic Rewards cover the fare only, and you pay taxes, duties and carrier-imposed charges on top. Compare the total with the cash fare before you book.
- Common mistakes. Miles go to the person who flies, and the name must match. Classic Rewards earn no Skywards Miles or Tier Miles. On Cash+Miles tickets you earn only on the cash part. Tier Miles cannot be bought or transferred.
- Expiry traps. Miles earned in June 2019 by someone with an August birthday expired on 31 August 2022. Platinum members' Miles do not expire while they stay Platinum. Tier Miles last up to 13 months.

Ways to earn
Miles come from Emirates and flydubai flights, partner airlines, hotels, UK shopping through Skywards Miles Mall, and buying or topping up Miles.
Emirates flights from the UK
Emirates lists 139 weekly passenger flights to eight UK airports: London Heathrow, London Gatwick, London Stansted, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Newcastle and Edinburgh. All go to Dubai. What you earn depends on the route, fare type and cabin. Economy and Business have Special, Saver, Flex and Flex Plus fares. Premium Economy is Flex Plus only. First is Flex or Flex Plus. Base Miles are calculated against Economy Flex Plus. Business and First earn extra bonus Skywards Miles and Tier Miles. Silver members get 30% bonus Skywards Miles on Emirates and flydubai flights, Gold 75% and Platinum 100%. The bonus is Skywards Miles, not Tier Miles. Miles are credited after each direction is flown.
flydubai and partner airlines
flydubai flights earn both Skywards Miles and Tier Miles. Other partner airlines earn Skywards Miles only. Qantas flights with an EK flight number earn at Emirates rates and also earn Tier Miles. Flights with a QF flight number earn at a separate distance-based rate and earn no Tier Miles.
Hotels
Skywards Silver, Gold and Platinum members earn 1 Skywards Mile per US$1 on eligible Marriott stays, on top of Bonvoy points, when accounts are linked. Accounts must be linked at least 48 hours before checkout or before the flight. ALL Accor converts 4,000 points to 2,000 Miles.
Skywards Miles Mall
UK shopping pays up to 150 Skywards Miles per £10, online and in store with linked cards. Miles are credited within 45 days. Start each shop on skywardsmilesmall.com while logged in. My Family, Skysurfers and Business Rewards accounts cannot earn on the Mall.
Buying and topping up
Buy Miles at USD 30 per 1,000, minimum 2,000 a transaction. The yearly limit is 100,000 for Blue and Silver and 200,000 for Gold and Platinum. Multiply Miles costs USD 20 per 1,000, up to 50,000 a year.
Ways to spend
Miles pay for Classic Rewards, Cash+Miles, upgrades and other Skywards partners. Classic Rewards start from 5,000 Miles.
Classic Rewards
From 5,000 Miles, on Saver and Flex Plus reward fares, one-way or return, on Emirates or flydubai. You can book for someone else. Reward tickets are valid for up to 12 months. Classic Rewards cover the fare only. You pay taxes, duties and carrier-imposed charges on top. Emirates lets you pay the carrier-imposed charges with Miles.
Upgrades
Upgrades start from 7,020 Miles. Saver fares can be upgraded only at online check-in, between 48 and 6 hours before departure, and need more Miles than Flex or Flex Plus. Flex and Flex Plus can be upgraded online up to 6 hours before departure. Special fares cannot be upgraded with Miles. You do not earn Miles for the upgraded cabin.
Cash+Miles
Use any mix of cash and Miles on Emirates and flydubai fares. It also covers lounge access, excess baggage, paid seat selection, and meals and insurance on flydubai. You earn only on the cash part, excluding carrier-imposed charges, taxes and fees.
Other spends
Hotel stays, Skywards Exclusives, retail and lifestyle partners, and donations to the Emirates Airline Foundation. Miles Mall gift cards start from 2,000 Miles.
