Best ways to maximise Tesco Clubcard
Checking which offers are still running.
How to get the most from it
- Best-value use. Spend Clubcard vouchers at Tesco at face value: the terms say 1 point equals 1 penny. Groceries earn 1 point per £1. Clubcard Plus is £7.99 a month after a one-month free trial for a new subscriber, with 10% off two in-store shops a month. Those two coupons do not roll over.
- Common mistakes. Do not assume a Clubcard to Avios route. The terms name Virgin Points only, and no official end date for Avios was found. Do not treat a Reward Partner multiple as settled: Tesco’s own pages do not agree, so no multiple is stated here. Fuel is not 1 point per £1: it is 1 point per 2 litres at a Tesco petrol station, or 1 point per £3 at an Esso site with a Tesco Express.
- Expiry traps. Vouchers last two years from issue. An account with no points for two years can be deleted, and carried-forward points then expire if the account is not used. Points become vouchers quarterly once you have at least 250, or on request from 150.

Ways to earn
Groceries, fuel and a few extras earn points at different rates. Some products are excluded.
Tesco shopping
1 point for every £1 spent on groceries in store or online, and the same rate on Marketplace products. The terms say members must spend above a certain amount in one transaction. That minimum is not published on the pages we could open.
Fuel
1 point for every 2 litres at a Tesco Petrol Filling Station. At an Esso station with a Tesco Express, 1 point for every £3 spent on fuel. No points at an Esso site without a Tesco Express shop. Kiosk spend that is not fuel earns 1 point per £1.
Clubcard Plus
£7.99 a month after a 1-month free trial for a new subscriber who has not subscribed in the last 6 months. Monthly rolling, cancel any time. Within 14 days of joining, cancel on 0800 591 688. Benefits: 10% off two in-store shops of your choice each month (the coupons do not roll over) and 10% off F&F and selected Tesco brands in store, plus double data on Tesco Mobile pay monthly.
Points Partners and Tesco Bank
Selected partner brands; Tesco Bank points credited separately. One Stop trial from 24 April 2025: 1 point per £1 at participating stores.
Limits and exclusions
Maximum 30,000 points per collection period (except promotions). No points on e.g. tobacco, lottery, stamps, prescriptions, infant formula, gift cards, Clubcard Plus subscription payments, Travel Money, alcohol in Northern Ireland. Missed scans: return within 14 days with receipt.
Ways to spend
Points become vouchers for Tesco, or can be exchanged with Reward Partners, including Virgin Points.
Clubcard vouchers at Tesco
Face value in store, on Tesco fuel, at tesco.com/groceries and selected Tesco Bank products. Not on Tesco Marketplace.
Reward Partners
Vouchers can be exchanged for Reward Partner codes. Tesco’s pages do not agree on the multiple, so no multiple is stated. Codes cannot be refunded or reissued.
Virgin Points
Exchange to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club/Virgin Red.

Donate vouchers; Family Partners at face value.
