How to convert ADCB TouchPoints to Skywards or Etihad Guest Miles

How to convert ADCB TouchPoints to Emirates Skywards (22:1) or Etihad Guest (14:1), the minimums, and the AED you give up compared with spending points as cash.

Summary

  • Skywards: 22 TouchPoints = 1 Skywards Mile, minimum 22,000 TouchPoints (rate since 1 November 2024).
  • Etihad Guest: 14 TouchPoints = 1 Etihad Guest Mile.
  • What you give up: 1,000 Skywards Miles cost 22,000 TouchPoints, worth AED 88 if paid towards bills instead. 1,000 Etihad Guest Miles cost 14,000 TouchPoints, worth AED 56 the same way.
  • Our verdict: convert only when you have a specific reward flight or upgrade in mind that's worth more than the AED you'd otherwise get. Never convert just to cash Miles out again.
  • This page explains the TouchPoints programme. It isn't a recommendation of any ADCB card or account.

Best ways to maximise

Current official offers: no official TouchPoints conversion bonus running right now. The last bonus on ADCB's promotions page was a 2021 offer that has ended. Etihad Guest's own up-to-40% transfer bonus ended on 31 October 2026.

Evergreen tips

  • Check the reward first. Find the reward seat, check its Miles price and the taxes and charges, then convert.
  • Convert in one go above the minimum. Skywards needs at least 22,000 TouchPoints.
  • Names must match. Your ADCB name should match your airline membership.
  • Conversions are generally final. Airline programmes say partner conversions can't be reversed.

The sums: what a Mile costs you

TouchPoints have different cash values depending on how you spend them (ADCB's published rates):

  • Bill payments, donations, Zakat

    Official rate:
    2,500 TouchPoints = AED 10
    Value per TouchPoint:
    AED 0.004
  • TouchPoints Max and e-commerce partners

    Official rate:
    8,333 TouchPoints = AED 50
    Value per TouchPoint:
    AED 0.0060
  • In-store instant redemption partners

    Official rate:
    10,000 TouchPoints = AED 50
    Value per TouchPoint:
    AED 0.005

Converting 22,000 TouchPoints → 1,000 Skywards Miles

  • Versus bills: 22,000 × AED 0.004 = AED 88
  • Versus Max partners: 22,000 × AED 0.0060 = AED 132
  • So each Skywards Mile "costs" AED 0.088 to AED 0.132.

Converting 14,000 TouchPoints → 1,000 Etihad Guest Miles

  • Versus bills: 14,000 × AED 0.004 = AED 56
  • Versus Max partners: 14,000 × AED 0.0060 = AED 84
  • So each Etihad Guest Mile "costs" AED 0.056 to AED 0.084.

A warning sum: Skywards Everyday currently cashes Miles out at 350 Miles = AED 10 (limited time). So 1,000 Miles = AED 28.57, far less than the AED 88 of TouchPoints you'd give up. Converting TouchPoints to Miles to get cash is a loss.

How to convert

To Emirates Skywards

1. Join Emirates Skywards (free) and note your membership number.

2. Log in to ADCB Personal Internet Banking (ADCB says airline-mile conversions are made there; bill payments can also be made in the Mobile Banking App).

3. Choose to convert TouchPoints to airline miles, select Emirates Skywards, and enter your membership number.

4. Convert at least 22,000 TouchPoints (1,000 Miles).

To Etihad Guest

1. Join Etihad Guest (free) and note your membership number.

2. In ADCB Personal Internet Banking, choose Etihad Guest as the airline.

3. Convert at 14 TouchPoints per Mile.

When converting makes sense

  • You've found a reward or upgrade and you're short of Miles.
  • The flight's cash price is high compared with the AED value you'd give up (see the sums above), after taxes and charges.
  • For Etihad Guest, you'll use the Miles within 18 months (or will fly to extend them).

When it doesn't

  • You have no reward in mind. TouchPoints spent on bills keep their AED value.
  • You'd cash the Miles out.
  • Your Etihad Guest Miles would expire before you use them.

FAQ

What's the TouchPoints to Skywards rate? 22 TouchPoints = 1 Skywards Mile, minimum 22,000 TouchPoints, since 1 November 2024.

What's the TouchPoints to Etihad Guest rate? 14 TouchPoints = 1 Etihad Guest Mile, as listed by Etihad Guest.

How much are TouchPoints worth in AED? It depends on use: 2,500 = AED 10 for bills (AED 0.004 each), and 8,333 = AED 50 at TouchPoints Max partners (about AED 0.006 each).

Is it better to convert to Skywards or Etihad Guest? An Etihad Guest Mile costs fewer TouchPoints (14 vs 22), but Miles from the two airlines buy different rewards and Etihad's expire sooner. Pick the airline you'll redeem with. See Skywards vs Etihad Guest.

Can I convert Emirates NBD Plus Points too? Yes, under Emirates NBD's own programme: 1 Plus Point = 7 Skywards Miles or 10 Etihad Guest Miles (minimum 500 points). See Emirates Skywards and Etihad Guest.
