The ENTERTAINER (UAE)

The ENTERTAINER explained: UAE 2027 memberships from AED 650 to AED 920, how Buy One Get One Free offers work, and how to tell if it pays.

In 30 seconds

Who it's for

UAE residents who eat out, go to attractions or book spa and salon treatments regularly, usually with at least one other person, and who don't mind picking venues from the app.

Who it isn't for

People who mostly go out alone, who rarely eat out, or who'd only use it a handful of times before it expires.

Our verdict

It's worth it only if the offers you'd really use, at places you'd have paid for anyway, add up to more than the price. You can create a free account and browse the offers before you pay, so count them first. Remember that you get a set number of uses per brand, not per branch, that most offers need two people, and that some busy dates are excluded.

Insider tips

  1. Count uses per brand, not per branch. Offers belong to the merchant, not the outlet. Use one at any branch and it shows as used at every branch of that brand. The app store listings say you get three core offers per merchant. So a chain with 20 branches still gives you three uses, not 60. Count brands when you work out whether it pays.Sources: S2, S34, S35
  2. Match the offers to your group size. Buy One Get One Free dining and activity offers are one per two people. 2 or 3 people get 1 offer, 4 or 5 get 2, 6 or 7 get 3, and 8 or more get a maximum of 4. A party of five gets no more than a party of four. You also get one bill for the whole table, and it can't be split to use more offers.Sources: S2, S4
  3. Pair similar-priced items. When you order two or more items, the restaurant takes the cheapest one off the bill. An AED 40 main with a AED 90 main saves you AED 40, not AED 90. Use the price of the cheaper item when you estimate your savings.Sources: S4
  4. Look for Bonus Offers, which don't run out. Bonus Offers (once called Monthly Offers) are non-depleting. They're for a different item from the main offers and can be reused up to four times a day. Examples include brunches, iftars and festive events. They don't run all year, and you don't earn Smiles on them.Sources: S19, S8
  5. Restore a favourite instead of losing it. Used up a place you love? You can restore a used offer with 1,000 Smiles (The ENTERTAINER's own in-app points) or by requesting it from a Friend in the app. You can restore up to 3 offers per merchant per year. Smiles expire 12 months after you earn them, or 30 days after your membership ends, whichever comes first.Sources: S24, S8, S26
  6. Use the unlimited 25% off on delivery. In the UAE, if your membership includes delivery offers, each delivery merchant in the app has three one-time '2-for-1' offers and one '25% Off' offer that you can use on unlimited orders. You can't mix the two in one order. Delivery and service fees aren't discounted, so compare the total with what you'd normally pay.Sources: S5, S20
  7. Check the hotel's flexible rate before you book. "Buy one night, get one free" is based on the hotel's Best Available Rate, which The ENTERTAINER defines as the fully flexible, non-restricted rate of the day. You need at least two consecutive nights, it covers the room only, and taxes, service charges and tourism fees apply to both nights. Compare the total with the cheapest rate you'd otherwise book before you call.Sources: S21
  8. Share it instead of buying two. The Primary Member can add up to three Family Members (partner, child, parent or sibling) on memberships with the Family feature. On 1 November 2026, both the UAE and GCC cards on the official site said "Add up to 3 family members". Offers come from one shared pool: once anyone uses an offer, it's used for everyone.Sources: S15, S3, S33

Common mistakes

  1. Planning a big night on an excluded date. Unless an offer says otherwise, UAE offers can't be used on 1 January, 14 February, 24, 25 and 31 December, Eid Al Fitr, Eid Al Adha, Islamic New Year, the Prophet's Birthday, Commemoration Day, National Day or any other public holiday the government announces (subject to the merchant). So Valentine's dinner and New Year's Eve are out.Sources: S9
  2. Asking for the bill first. Show the offer before you pay or ask for the bill. When you ask for the bill, tell the server you want to use an ENTERTAINER offer. The merchant usually enters a 4-digit PIN in your app.Sources: S2, S31
  3. Expecting it on every dish. Unless the offer says so, main-course dining offers don't cover breakfast, starters, sides, desserts, buffets, themed nights, combos, kids' menus, sharing platters, mezze or items priced by the kilo. Dining offers also aren't valid for takeaway or delivery unless stated.Sources: S4
  4. Trying to stack it. Offers can't be combined with other discounts, promotions, special menu items or loyalty and rewards programmes. Cheers offers can't be combined with happy hour or ladies' night either.Sources: S2, S4
  5. Going solo. Most Buy One Get One Free offers need at least two people. Activities need a minimum of two unless stated. The exceptions are 50% off offers and some wellness, retail and services offers.Sources: S2, S6, S19
  6. Booking the hotel through a travel site. The hotel offer can't be used with travel agency bookings, third-party travel or daily-deal rates, or corporate and group rates. Call the hotel's reservations team, mention the offer when you book, and show it at check-in.Sources: S21, S23

How to pay less for it

  1. Buy early in the edition. 2027 memberships run until a fixed validity date, so every week you wait is a week less of use for the same price. On 1 November 2026 the official site offered 15 months of access for the price of 12.Sources: S1, S33
  2. Know what auto-renewal costs. The help centre says that if you turn on auto-renewal before your membership ends, it renews with 10% off the website price. The T&Cs say the card on your profile is charged the retail price on the renewal date. Check the price in Account > Memberships before the renewal date, and cancel before then if you don't want it.Sources: S10, S32
  3. Check whether a VIP Key covers you. The ENTERTAINER gives out VIP Keys at some events, and partner organisations may give them to their employees or customers. You activate them at theentertainerme.com/vipkey. Promotional and complimentary memberships can come with exclusions, redemption caps and their own validity period, so compare what's included before you buy a full one. VIP Keys are single use and can't be resold. Only use one from The ENTERTAINER or an official partner.Sources: S13, S32
  4. Price GCC against a second country. GCC costs AED 145 more than the UAE membership (AED 795 vs AED 650) and covers GCC markets plus Singapore. If you'll only use one other country, compare that with the country's own 2027 membership: QAR 295 in Qatar, BHD 28.5 in Bahrain, OMR 18.5 in Oman, SAR 285 in Saudi Arabia and SGD 48 in Singapore. You need an active membership for each place you want to redeem in.Sources: S1, S18
  5. Only pay for Double if you can see what it adds. Double costs AED 125 more than the standard UAE membership. The official help centre only says it gives "the applicable Double Membership benefits", and we couldn't find a public page that lists them. Open Account > Memberships in the app and check before you pay the extra.Sources: S1
  6. Use the refund window wisely. You can get a refund within 30 days of purchase only if nobody on the membership has redeemed an offer. Refunds go back to the card you paid with, and any bank or currency fees are yours. If you're unsure, browse and plan before your first redemption, and add family members once you've decided to keep it.Sources: S11, S32

Best time to buy or use it

Buying

  1. Browse free before you pay. You can create an account without buying. Offers show as locked until you have a membership for that market. Set your location, sort by Distance or Popularity, and count the brands you'd really use. In the UAE the offers are split into Dining, Activities, Wellness, Delivery, Hotels and Services. Start with the category you already spend the most on, because that's where your savings will come from.Sources: S28, S12, S29, S16
  2. As soon as you've done the sums. Because the validity date is fixed, buying earlier gives you more time to use your offers.Sources: S1, S33

Using your offers

  1. Check Bonus Offers each season. Bonus Offers such as brunches, iftars and festive events aren't available all year, so check what's on before you book a big-ticket outing.Sources: S19
  2. Expect some closures in summer, Ramadan and religious holidays. The ENTERTAINER says a limited number of outlets may close over the summer, Ramadan and some religious holidays.Sources: S9
  3. Use a solo spa voucher by 30 December. If you take a wellness offer on your own, you pay full price for the first treatment and get a voucher for a free second one on a later visit. It must be used by 30 December and can't be transferred.Sources: S7
  4. Watch for supplements on public holidays. Hotel Package rates can change at peak times, and supplements apply on public holidays. Confirm the price with the hotel when you book.Sources: S22
  5. Use Smiles before they lapse. Smiles last 12 months from when you earn them, or 30 days after your membership ends, whichever is sooner. When the membership ends, your offers lock and family members lose access until you renew and add them again.Sources: S8, S10, S15

How to estimate your real saving

  1. List the brands you'd go to anyway before the membership ends. Count each brand once, however many branches it has.
  2. For each visit, your saving is the price of the cheaper of the two items, because that's what gets taken off.
  3. Add up the savings and take away the membership price. If the answer is below zero, it isn't worth it for you.
  4. Once you've bought it, Account > Savings shows your monthly and yearly savings and your top merchants and categories, and Account > Family Members shows your family's savings. Check it halfway through the year and move towards bigger-ticket offers if you're behind.

Example with made-up numbers

  • 8 dinners where the cheaper main is AED 60: 8 × AED 60 = AED 480.
  • 1 theme park day where the free ticket is worth AED 250 to you: AED 250.
  • Total AED 730 − AED 650 (UAE membership) = AED 80 ahead.

The ENTERTAINER publishes its own figures: on 1 November 2026, the UAE card said members "save up to AED 11,050" a year (AED 13,515 for GCC), and the offer search page said "our Dubai members save an average of AED 3,435 each year". Those are its numbers, not a forecast for you.

  2. When you browse the free app, can you find enough brands near you that you'd use, even if each only gives you a few uses?

Yes is a good sign: Offers are counted per brand, not per branch.

    Sources: S2, S34
  3. Would you share it with a partner, child, parent or sibling?

Yes is a good sign: Up to three family members can use one membership.

    Sources: S15, S33
  4. Would you go to the places in the app anyway, rather than going just because there's an offer?

Yes is a good sign: A saving only counts if you'd have spent the money anyway.

  5. Are most of your big nights out on Valentine's Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve or Eid?

Yes is a warning sign: These are exclusion days in the UAE.

Mostly good signs

It could well pay for itself. Run your own numbers in the calculator before you buy, and make your first redemption only once you're sure, so the 30-day refund window stays open.

Mostly warning signs

It probably won't pay for itself. Try the free options first, such as 2-for-1 offers in free loyalty apps, and come back when your plans change.

How it works

  • Buy a membership, then redeem offers in the app at participating merchants.
  • Country memberships are available in the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Singapore. GCC memberships cover offers across GCC markets plus Singapore.

Break-even, with the sums

  • If your average Buy One Get One Free saving is the price of one main, divide the membership price by that saving. AED 650 ÷ your average saving = the number of uses you need. For example, if you save AED 50 each time, you need 650 ÷ 50 = 13 uses. Use your own typical saving.

Is The ENTERTAINER a subscription? No. The 2027 memberships aren't monthly or annual subscriptions. Each runs until its validity date.

How many times can I use each offer?

The app store listings say you get three core offers per merchant, and an offer used at one branch counts as used at all branches. Bonus Offers are different: they're non-depleting and can be used up to four times a day while they run. You can also restore up to 3 used offers per merchant per year.

Sources: S34, S35, S2, S19, S24

Can I share my membership?

Yes, on memberships with the Family feature. The Primary Member can add up to three Family Members (partner, child, parent or sibling), and everyone draws from the same offers. Adding someone as a Friend doesn't give them access.

Sources: S3, S15, S27

Can I get a refund?

Only within 30 days of buying, and only if no offers have been redeemed by you or any Family Member. Contact The ENTERTAINER's customer support. Approved refunds take 7 to 10 days, depending on your bank.

Can I use it for delivery?

Yes, in the UAE only, by ordering in The ENTERTAINER app if your membership includes delivery offers. You pay online by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay (not cash), you can't schedule an order for later, and delivery and service fees aren't discounted. Dining offers aren't valid for delivery or takeaway unless the offer says so.

Sources: S5, S17, S20, S4

Do I need the GCC membership for a trip?

Only if it costs less than buying that country's own membership. You need an active membership for each place where you want to redeem offers.

Sources: S1, S18

What does the Double membership add?

The ENTERTAINER's help centre doesn't list it publicly. Check Account > Memberships in the app before paying the AED 125 extra.

Sources: S1

Are ENTERTAINER Smiles the same as the Smiles app by e&?

Don't mix them up. The ENTERTAINER says its Smiles are its own in-app loyalty points. They're mainly used to restore offers (1,000 Smiles each), only the Primary Member can use them, and they can't be transferred.
