How SHARE Rewards works at Carrefour, VOX and MAF malls: earn rates, 10 points = AED 1, 24-month expiry and the best ways to use your points.

People who shop at Carrefour, go to VOX Cinemas or spend regularly in Majid Al Futtaim malls such as Mall of the Emirates and City Centre, especially households that can pool points in a Family Group.

Who it isn't for

People who rarely use Carrefour, VOX or Majid Al Futtaim malls, or who won't scan an ID at the till or upload receipts.

Our verdict

SHARE is free and works like cashback you spend in the same places. The base mall rate is small, so the real value comes from Carrefour, VOX and the brands that add extra points, and from never forgetting to scan.

Insider tips

  1. Scan at Carrefour and VOX, every time. Carrefour and VOX don't accept receipt uploads. Scan your SHARE ID at the till, or log into the Carrefour or VOX app or website with your SHARE email and password before you buy. Magic Planet, AllSaints, Lululemon and THAT also take the SHARE ID.Sources: S1, S2, S3
  2. Upload other mall receipts within 14 days. For mall shops that don't scan the SHARE ID, upload the receipt in the app. The T&Cs say it must be within 14 days of purchase, counting the day you bought it; one FAQ answer gives a longer window, so upload within 14 days to be safe. Photograph the whole receipt and use the 'Long Receipt' option for long ones.Sources: S4, S1
  3. Set up a Family Group. The Family Head (aged 18 or over) can link up to 9 family members, including a domestic helper, so the group holds up to 10. Each member chooses what share of their points goes to the Head, and members can gift points to each other. Gifts and contributions are permanent, and after leaving a group you must wait 6 months from when you joined it before joining or starting another.Sources: S4, S1, S5
  4. Go to VOX for the highest rate. VOX Cinemas pays 30 points per AED 100, including on discounted tickets and tickets you buy for others, and you can earn on candy bar food and drinks too. That's AED 3 back per AED 100 (our sum), much more than the 2.5-point mall base rate.Sources: S5
  5. Pay with a mall gift card and still earn. Buying a shopping mall gift card doesn't earn points, but shopping with one does: upload the receipt as normal.Sources: S1
  6. Earn on the cash part of a mixed payment. If you pay entirely with points, you don't earn more points. If you pay partly with points, you still earn on the part you pay another way. Sale and discounted items earn on what you actually pay.Sources: S1
  7. Use points at hotel restaurants. At Majid Al Futtaim hotels you can spend points on restaurant bills by paying through the SHARE Wallet in the app. You can't use points for hotel rooms yet.Sources: S4
  8. Choose which VOX items to pay with points. At VOX, points cover whole items only. With 2 tickets and a popcorn, for example, you pick which items go on points and pay cash for the rest. For food and drinks at the candy bar there's no minimum balance.Sources: S4, S5

Common mistakes

  1. Expecting points on everything. You can't earn on financial services, gift cards, extended warranties, Nol, Salik, or Etisalat and du payments, and hotel room spend doesn't earn either.Sources: S4
  2. Returning items you haven't got points for. When you return something that earned points, those points are deducted. If your balance can't cover it, your account is suspended until SHARE has checked it.Sources: S4
  3. Letting the account go quiet. Each point lasts 24 months from when you earned it, but if there's no earning or spending at all for 24 months, every point in the account expires.Sources: S4
  4. Uploading the same receipt twice. Receipt points can take up to 14 days to appear, depending on how clear the photo is. Wait before you resubmit, and call 800-SHARE (74273) if nothing has arrived after that.Sources: S1, S6
  5. Trying to use points on VOX premium packages. Points can't be redeemed on GOLD or THEATRE ticket-and-food packages, and anything paid with points can't be refunded to VOX Credit.Sources: S5
  6. Opening a second account. You can only have one SHARE account in your name, email and phone number, and only be in one Family Group at a time. Duplicate accounts can be cancelled along with their points.Sources: S1, S4

How to earn faster

  1. Shop the brands that add extra points. On top of the 2.5-point mall base, Majid Al Futtaim brands add 2.5 to 150 points per AED 100 and select brands add 7.5. Check SHARE World in the app for each brand's rate before a big purchase.Sources: S1, S2
  2. Pool the household's points. A Family Group lets up to 10 people put points into one balance, so smaller amounts add up to something you can spend sooner.Sources: S4
  3. Earn online at the right sites. Log in with your SHARE details to earn online at Carrefour, Crate and Barrel, LEGO, Ski Dubai and VOX Cinemas. One FAQ answer still says online earning is VOX only, so check that points appear after your first order elsewhere.Sources: S2, S1

Best time to earn or redeem

Earning

  1. At the till, not afterwards. At Carrefour and VOX there's no receipt upload, so scan or log in before you pay.Sources: S1, S2
  2. Within 14 days for everything else. Receipt claims are only accepted within 14 days of purchase, including the purchase day.Sources: S4

Redeeming

  1. Before each point's 24-month date. Points expire 24 months after you earn them. Spending small amounts at Carrefour, from 10 points, is an easy way to use them up.Sources: S4, S1, S3
  2. Get a reminder before SHARE points expire. Keep an eye on your oldest points in the app, and make sure there's some earning or spending at least once every 24 months so the whole balance doesn't lapse.Sources: S4

What your points are really worth

  1. Every 10 points is AED 1 off, so each point is worth AED 0.10.
  2. The mall base rate of 2.5 points per AED 100 is worth AED 0.25 per AED 100 (our sum).
  3. Add the 7.5-point boost at select brands and it's 10 points, or AED 1 per AED 100 (our sum).
  4. VOX's 30 points per AED 100 is worth AED 3 per AED 100 (our sum).

Example with made-up numbers

  • AED 1,000 a month in mall shops at the base rate: 25 points = AED 2.50.
  • AED 200 a month at VOX: 60 points = AED 6.
  • Over a year that's (AED 2.50 + AED 6) × 12 = AED 102.

SHARE is worth having. Scan every time at Carrefour and VOX, upload other receipts the same week, and spend points before they reach 24 months.

SHARE won't add up to much for you, but it's free, so keep the app for the odd cinema trip or Carrefour shop.

Value per point, with the sums

  • Burn: 10 SHARE points = AED 1, so 1 point = AED 0.10.
  • Base earn in MAF malls: 2.5 points per AED 100.
  • 2.5 × AED 0.10 = AED 0.25 back per AED 100 (0.25%).
  • At MAF brands: an extra 2.5–150 points per AED 100, depending on the brand.
  • For example, an extra 2.5 points takes you to 5 points per AED 100 = AED 0.50 (0.5%).
  • The rate for each brand is shown in the SHARE app.
  • Select brands in malls: an extra 7.5 points per AED 100, so 2.5 + 7.5 = 10 points = AED 1 per AED 100 (1%).

How to earn

  • SHARE ID: scan at Carrefour, VOX Cinemas, Magic Planet, AllSaints, Lululemon, THAT and more.
  • Receipts: submit them in the app for other stores and restaurants in MAF malls (not Carrefour or VOX).
  • Online: log in with your SHARE details to earn at Carrefour, Crate and Barrel, LEGO, Ski Dubai and VOX Cinemas. One FAQ answer still says online earning is VOX only, so check that points appear after your first order elsewhere.
  • Top up: you can buy SHARE points with the Top Up feature.

How to spend

  • Instantly at MAF brands and stores that accept the SHARE Wallet. The minimum is 10 points (AED 1), and you can pay part with points and the rest another way.
  • Mall gift card: for stores in MAF malls that don't take the SHARE Wallet.
  • VOX: log in to your VOX account or show your SHARE ID before you buy.
  • Carrefour: scan your SHARE ID to pay with points in store, or choose points at checkout online. For UAE residents, Carrefour MyCLUB has been replaced by SHARE.

Best ways to use SHARE points

  • Groceries at Carrefour. Simple, and every point is worth the full AED 0.10.
  • VOX tickets and snacks, from 10 points (AED 1).
  • Days out at Ski Dubai, Magic Planet or iFly.
  • Avoid letting points expire. Even small amounts can go towards a Carrefour shop.

How much is 1,000 SHARE points worth? AED 100 (1,000 ÷ 10).

Do SHARE points expire? Yes. Points are valid for 24 months from when you earn them, and all your points expire if your account has no earning or spending for 24 months.

Can I use SHARE at Carrefour? Yes. Scan your SHARE ID in store or log in with your SHARE details online, both to earn and to pay with points.

Do I earn points when I pay with points? No. On mixed payments you earn on the cash part only.

Can I submit a Carrefour receipt if I forgot to scan? No. SHARE says receipts from Carrefour and VOX Cinemas can't be submitted.

Can I upload a Carrefour or VOX receipt?

No. At Carrefour and VOX you need to scan your SHARE ID or log in with your SHARE details when you buy.

SHARE's T&Cs say 14 days from the purchase date, including the day itself. One FAQ answer gives 12 months, so upload within 14 days to be safe.
